Ensuring the success of our projects, the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process provides strict controls from the beginning of all of RZD’s projects. This includes establishing the project requirements through Quality Function Deployment (QFD), determining the feasibility of the product manufacturing with Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMA) and assessing risk factors with Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA). To minimize design changes and assure success, sample manufacturing, small-batch trials and mass production handovers are also included in the process.
By introducing automation with the help of robotic arms, imaging systems, and other equipment, lean production and intelligent manufacturing are promoted in RZD.
